Course Reflective Narratives
This class was our introduction into the capstone project. While we had been working on the ePortfolio for a good amount of time, we had not yet discussed how we were going to conduct the capstone itself. A really cool thing about the first half of the semester was that we were all just sharing ideas with each other. I always have ideas so it was nice to be able to share with my classmates. Like any project, a clash of ideas would happen and a struggle to pick a topic would happen but in the end, my capstone partner and I were able to meet in the middle for a topic. I wanted to study something personally profound which got me on the topic of the memoirs of Francisco Jimenez. I was able to relate parts of my life to the stories he would write about in the first three memoirs and it seemed like this was the perfect opportunity to study the complexities of personal identity evolution. As such, I was able to meet with my would be capstone partner Fernanda Lopez and plan out the framework for the rest of our project. This website in itself as well as the multiple projects reflect my meeting of MLO 1 through communication in Spanish in class and through the investigation. Moving forward, we will conduct the next steps in our investigation which includes our literature review as well as our literary analysis where we are looking at personal identity evolution in the three memoirs.
